I think I am pregnant- What next?

Pregnancy Testing

If you think you are pregnant, you can either buy a home pregnancy testing kit from a pharmacy or supermarket, or ask your GP. Home pregnancy testing kits are very accurate and there is usually no need for further testing.

Positive Pregnancy Test

If you’ve found out that you’re pregnant, get the best start for you and your baby by making an appointment with a midwife. You can do this by contacting your GP practice and arranging an appointment with a midwife.

If you are unsure about continuing with the pregnancy, you should call or visit your GP or local sexual health clinic as soon as possible for advice and support. More information and advice can be found on the NHS Grampian Sexual Health website.
